[...He's been staring at his bracelet for the past twenty minutes, unsure of what to do. Unsure of what to say. So much has happened in the past few weeks, he's not even sure where to start. Ezio is a man of many words and emotions, but of all the times he needs them, he cannot seem to find the right ones to say now. Of his choice to explore Thiazi's mansion, of the consequences that followed, of the curse they were given and how Caterina had to deal with his younger self for three days.

It's a mess, and he doesn't even know if he can say everything that needs to be said. But he has to try.

So, slowly, he picks out what he should say, and runs it through his head several times before pressing the record option-

And promptly forgets everything. Cazzo.

In the end, there is some silence, but it is very clear he's tormented, almost, about what he's done to her. And she has to know he's sorry for it.

Even if it means he's lost his chance with her in the process.]

Caterina. [He pauses, mouth moving into a thin line on his end before breathing out again and speaking.] I would like to see you, if it is possible.

[There. That... that's a start. He'll have to make it up as he goes.]

[She knows what this is about.

At least, she knows what it should be about. If it turns out to not be about that she will be upset.

But everyone gets a chance. Everyone who deserves one, anyway.

So when she responds, it's softly, and without any vehemence.]

Va bene. You know where to find me.

[She's in the shop, of course.]

[It doesn't take him long to arrive in the shop- really, how could he miss her, she runs the place far better than he does. And it's Caterina. Ezio knows better than to run.

He waits, instead, for an opportune moment where she is not busy, then makes his way towards her.]

Caterina. Posso parlare con te per uno momento?

["Can I speak with you for a moment?"

A simple enough request, he supposes. It's enough, at least, to get started. The hard part will come next.]

[She sees him come in, and she waits for him to approach her, because like hell is she going to step away from a busy shop before she's damn well ready.

Caterina appreciates his timing though. Good job. Starting off strong with ten points.

She watches him approach and raises her eyebrows, her expression carefully neutral.]

Va bene.

[She gives a few quick instructions to those on hand (including Alastair, who looks between the two of them but says nothing and just nods at Caterina's instructions and turns to help another customer) and turns back to Ezio. She nods and walks into the back.

Caterina heads to the office area and sits delicately on a chair and takes her hair down, proceeding to fix it carefully as she addresses him.]

Si? What is it?

[She knows very well what it is, but it's his responsibility to begin, and she wants to see how he does it.]

[And now is where he forces himself to talk. Stubbornness and pride have made it hard for him to apologize, and for s split second the urge to nip everything in the bud and turn on his heel rears its ugly head, but he shoves it away, knowing this needs to be done.]

I was a fool.

[It needs more than that, and the way he has his mouth move into a thin line says as much. A breathing through his nose, and he continues.]

I was a fool to think that we would make it through without Thiazi's noticing, to not consider the consequences before they happened. To place everyone we knew, the whole of Asgard, in danger because of our choice. That our plan was simple, and that nothing would go wrong. And, in the end, neglected that we could have hurt you far more then we already have

[He's not done, though. His gaze does not leave hers as he speaks again.]

When we were cursed by the gods, I was a fool then. Both by my actions and by my thoughts at the time. I humiliated you and treated you poorly when I was younger.

[And it is not something he is proud of. The way he speaks, the way he gestures, it shows easily. To have treated her so poorly, a woman he loves more than himself, more than anything else in his life, it breaks his heart. He knows better, even though the curse was not something he had control over.

What he's trying to say, really, is--]

I am sorry, Caterina.

[Truthfully, he doesn't know if it's enough. What's happened in the past few weeks is enough to break apart even strong ties. If she wants to end it, then so be it, he will not stop her. So long as he has said his piece, he will accept whatever she chooses, despite the ache his heart may feel.]

[She listens carefully, her gaze never wavering from his, and she watches his expression, hears every word and processes it. When he's done, she's quiet for a long time.

In truth, she had been hurt. She really had. But she has suffered far worse in her life, and come through with strength and... if not grace then certainly confidence.

This is different, though.

She stands and walks toward him, stopping a mere foot away, close enough so that she has to look up at him, close enough that she can easily reach out and touch him, though she doesn't. She just looks at him for a long moment.

Then she nods.]

Lo so. Ti perdono.

[It's soft, gentle.

Because she loves him, she really does, and if he is truly sorry (and she believes he is), she won't unnecessarily cling to grievances like this.]
