Other Characters; N/A
IC Information;
Character Name; Caterina Sforza
Canon; Assassin’s Creed 2 and Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood Assassin's Creed Wiki page here.
Canon Point; Directly after the attack by the Borgia at Monteriggioni in Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood.
Age; 37
House; Freya
Power; Power Transfer
Personality; Caterina grew up with the best education an Italian noble could receive. She was the daughter of the Duke of Milan, and he took great pains to make sure all his children had a full education, and so by the time Caterina was married off (at a very young age), she was well versed in military, political, historical, and cultural matters. And her appetite for knowledge never went away. She’s a voracious reader, reasonably skilled with a blade (especially for a noblewoman from the Renaissance), and incredibly savvy when it comes to political and military matters. She’s clever, witty, and quick as a whip. She knows how to get what she wants and has the courage, know-how, and bull-headed stubbornness to be able to get it.
Despite her noble upbringing, however, she doesn’t act much like your typical noblewomen. She’s flirty, outgoing, and a fireball. She swears, curses, and generally shocks her enemies and many of her allies with her behavior. When Forlí was attacked by the Orsi brothers, and two of Caterina’s children were kidnapped and the kidnappers demanded the Apple of Eden and the map of codex pages as ransom, Caterina shot back that they’d get nothing from her. She shouted that they could do what they wanted to her children, after all, she had the instrument to make more. Then she flashed them.
She’s hardly a cold-hearted woman, however. She might have said that the kidnappers could kill her children, but after saying that she immediately turned to Ezio and told him to get her children back. She’s a passionate woman, and when she loves, she loves deeply. Her children are extremely important to her. Her passion and love can go overboard, however. Historically, when a lover of hers (whom she had secretly married) was assassinated, she tracked down every plotter and had them executed. That wasn’t enough, however. She also allowed their wives and children to be killed, and furthermore began something of a witch hunt against all the people who had ever spoken out against him before. It’s an extreme example, but telling of Caterina’s nature.
She likes power. She knows how to get it, and how to use it. She’s adept at playing the political arena and commanding troops when things go badly. She knows how to make alliances and how to deal with enemies. She was an extremely capable ruler of Forlí, despite all her flaws.
On a quieter, more personal side, she takes great joy from fashion and loves to be at the height of couture. She also is very interested in herbs and their uses, and alchemy is a great hobby of hers. She greatly enjoys reading and learning.
Caterina Sforza is a rather outrageous woman, but one who knows what she’s doing.
